Biography
Yiming Wang is a Senior Policy Analyst at APPRISE and a Research Fellow at the Public Tech Media Lab. She received her Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, with a doctoral minor in Political Science. Her research examines political communication, public opinion, public policy, and democratic accountability, with a particular focus on how digital media and emerging technologies shape political attitudes and behavior. Her work has appeared in journals including Public Opinion Quarterly, Political Communication, Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, and Journalism. She uses survey experiments, computational methods, and cross-national research to study topics including harmful online content, political incivility, and partisan communication. At the Public Tech Media Lab, she looks forward to contributing to research on digital platforms and AI and their implications for journalism, public policy, and democratic life.
