The Public Tech Media Lab operates at the intersection of journalism and public interest technologies. Our objective is to support newsrooms in the development and implementation of open-source tools for digital investigations, and to design artificial intelligence systems oriented toward the public good. We aim to reinforce journalists’ professional autonomy, institutional accountability, and commitment to transparency. As such, the Lab serves as a collaborative sandbox for journalists, technologists, and academics from different disciplines, where the ethical implications of emerging technologies can be collectively explored, solved, and anticipated.
