Margaret Shreiner

Biography

Margaret Shreiner is a Master’s student in Applied Data Science at the University of Michigan, with newsroom experience at Wisconsin Watch and Quiver Quantitative. Her work sits at the intersection of machine learning, big data, and journalism — specifically, how news organizations can adopt new technologies without sacrificing accuracy or public trust. Drawing on her graduate research and hands-on newsroom experience, Margaret looks to partner with journalists and editors to navigate this shift, helping shape policies for the application of data and AI in reporting. Margaret holds a Bachelor’s in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
