Biography
Valeria is a researcher at the University of Twente, passionate about exploring how emerging technologies are reshaping journalism and human–machine interaction. Her work focuses particularly on conversational agents and the intersection of AI, human factors, communication, and regulation. Currently, she investigates how different forms of explanations can help users better understand and interact with AI systems, as well as what users’ interactions and prompts with conversational agents reveal about their needs, expectations, and experiences. She draws on a range of methodologies, from experimental designs to cognitive walkthroughs, to study these interactions from different perspectives. Ultimately, her work aims to contribute to the design of more transparent, useful, and human-centered AI technologies.
