Biography
Jonas Nyabor is a PhD student in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Iowa. His research examines how emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, are transforming journalism practice and news audiences. He is also interested in information disorder, fact-checking, and open source investigations.
His research is informed by more than a decade of practice as a journalist, fact-checker, and media trainer across national and regional newsrooms in Africa. He has co-authored publications in Journalism and the International Journal of Press/Politics and is currently leading a grant project exploring effective approaches for increasing seniors’ and other vulnerable groups’ resilience to online scams and misinformation in Iowa.
