Biography

Leonor Hidalgo is a Ph.D. student in Mass Communication at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Wisconsin–Madison. Her research focuses on how health technologies and digital information environments shape public trust and health decision-making. She is particularly interested in understanding how emotions, uncertainty, and misinformation influence public responses to health technologies. At PTML, her research will explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping trust in health information and decision-making.

Before pursuing her Ph.D., Leonor spent more than 15 years leading science, technology, and innovation initiatives in Colombia’s public sector and later served as Innovation and Business Development Director at VaxThera, a biotechnology company.
