Sena Özkurt Azimli

Sena Ozkurt Azimli is a PhD student in the Department of Media Studies at the University of Virginia. Her research examines automated journalism and generative AI in transnational media contexts, with a focus on Turkey, Western Europe, and North America. Drawing on interdisciplinary theory and professional experience in the media industry, her work investigates how generative AI reshapes newsroom practices, public trust, and content governance across different linguistic and political settings. Sena is CITI-certified and trained in compliance with ethical guidelines and regulatory frameworks relevant to this study.
