I’m Chengyuan Liang, a PhD student in Science and Technology Studies (STS) at York University. My research investigates AI governance, specifically how large tech companies navigate data value, privacy, and copyright across different jurisdictions. I examine their data practices to understand how corporate strategies interact with legal frameworks and societal impacts. Through comparative analysis, I aim to reveal power dynamics in AI development and contribute insights for equitable data governance policies.
