I’m Chengyuan Liang, a PhD student in Science and Technology Studies (STS) at the University of York. My research investigates AI governance, specifically how large tech companies navigate data value, privacy, and copyright across different jurisdictions. I examine their data practices to understand how corporate strategies interact with legal frameworks and societal impacts. Through comparative analysis, I aim to reveal power dynamics in AI development and contribute insights for equitable data governance policies.
