Biography
Born and raised in Italy, Lavinia is currently completing her PhD at UCLouvain (French-speaking Belgium). Her doctoral research examines the evolution of media and journalism ethics through an international comparison of four media councils, in French-speaking Belgium, Switzerland, France, and Quebec. Lavinia’s main research interests are media and journalism ethics and journalistic identities, with a focus on how they evolve amid technological and political change. Lavinia has also worked as a journalist in various news organizations, notably at the French-speaking public service media (RTBF). As a member of the Public Tech Media Lab, she looks forward to contributing to interdisciplinary research on AI, particularly around ethics, accountability, and journalistic autonomy.
