Biography
Babette is a PhD researcher in the Media, Information and Persuasion Lab at KU Leuven (Belgium). Here, she is finishing her dissertation under the guidance of Prof. Michaël Opgenhaffen (KU Leuven) and Prof. Peter Van Aelst (University of Antwerp). Her research focuses on fact-check exposure and effectiveness, and how they can operate as tools to increase (political) knowledge of young citizens. For this research, which lies at the intersection between journalism, political communication, and journalism studies, Babette relies mostly on quantitative research methods. Her work has been published in top-tier journals, including Digital Journalism and Information, Communication and Society.
